For those who still have the OnePlus 6 and 6T models, there is bad news today. OnePlus has confirmed that these two models will enter the company’s list of discontinued equipment, and as such, they will no longer receive official support.
That is, both models will no longer receive security updates from this moment on, and will remain with the updates that are available. Despite having been revealed without anticipation, this measure was something users had foreseen for some time.
These models were released in mid-2018, having already received three major Android updates, plus the regular security patches. As such, they were close to the limit normally foreseen for OnePlus devices.
from the Reddit, the company confirmed that it will stop providing new updates for the same, and also leaves a note of thanks to the entire community for the growing support.
Obviously, this doesn’t prevent versions of custom ROMs from appearing that can take advantage of hardware with newer versions of Android, but it won’t be officially.
