OnePlus 12: Review, Specifications, Price, and Availability in the Czech Market

  • OnePlus 12 heads to the Czech market as the proverbial “flagship killer”
  • It attracts a large display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or 100W charging
  • With a promotional price of 24,490 crowns, the flagship Vivo X100 Pro is the main concern

For some, OnePlus is forgotten, for some damned, and for some, even after years, it is still a very original brand. While the new OnePlus 12R has now reached the global market, the basic model OnePlus 12 is celebrating its premiere on the Czech market. It also reached our editorial office in a beautiful green variant, what are our first impressions?

The original phones still exist

In the public space, there are opinions that conventional phones today are just black cakes with a dozen designs, do not bring anything new and are generally boring. I dare to disagree, and the OnePlus 12 will serve as an ideal argument for me.

OnePlus 12 is sold in the Czech Republic in black and green. While black is really a typically conservative color, the green one we tested impresses with a matte surface that imitates marble and a large photo module associated with the side. Appearance is certainly subjective, but I can say for myself that the phone looks really beautiful and extremely stylish.

But it is also big and heavy. The weight of 220 grams is due to the glass on the back and front (the display even covers the 2nd generation Victus) as well as the solid aluminum construction. Already at the first grip, you can notice that the center of gravity is well balanced and the mobile phone does not fall out of your hands. However, the increased resistance is from the “cheap region”, OnePlus only bet on IP65.

Sales packaging with reservations

The Chinese manufacturer has always paid attention to the sales packaging – it should impress the customer with the red color and immediately let them know that this phone is not the same as the others. The package contains a lot of literature, but also a 100W charging adapter.

But for incomprehensible reasons, it has a USB-A port, so the cable must come with one USB-A end and the other USB-C. Unlike the competition, OnePlus also does not include a case – it usually sells it separately.

Display and performance

With the OnePlus 12, it is clear that the manufacturer is not giving up on the original idea – to offer a very well-equipped phone at a so-called low price. The 6.82″ screen has all the superlatives: dynamic refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Quad HD+ resolution, but also a high brightness of 4,500 nits. It makes a very good impression when in use, but we will go into it in depth only in the review.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from the American Qualcomm can be a very effective weapon against the competition. This chipset works with an 8-core processor (highest clock speed 3.3 GHz – Cortex X4 core) and an Adreno 750 graphics accelerator. It’s an extremely powerful piece of silicon, no doubt about it.

The spicy situation begins when the OnePlus 12 compares with the biggest rival on the Czech market – the Vivo X100 Pro. This flagship will cost about 2 thousand more than OnePlus, but it offers MediaTek Dimensity 9300. Honestly, from an expert’s point of view, both chipsets have absolutely insane performance and the differences are only in consumption, heating and so on. Yet, among consumers, Qualcomm still pays for “the better America” over Taiwan’s MediaTek.

Apart from that, you can measure the performance in the benchmarks on the attached images. As for the rest of the equipment, OnePlus is really royally prepared. Of course, it offers Wi-Fi 7, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, Android 14 with the OxygenOS superstructure or NFC and an infrared port.

It even got a 5400mAh battery. The variant available in the Czech Republic also has 100W cable charging and 50W wireless charging on a special branded wireless charger. Compared to Vive, there is also 10W reverse charging, which can play a big role especially for more demanding customers.

Hasselblad-enabled camera

Where others call for help from Zeiss or Leica, OnePlus has been working with the Swedish icon Hasselblad for the fourth year. For the cameras of the OnePlus 12 model, this company was supposed to provide lens coverage and also design a special color profile. The first time you turn it on, the photo application prompts you to use a special Hasselblad watermark. God why…

However, the camera setup feels a bit weaker on paper than the Viva X100 Pro when it comes to comparisons. The Sony LYT 808 main camera with 50 Mpx resolution impresses with optical and electronic stabilization and a focal length of 23 millimeters. Otherwise, it’s nothing revolutionary.

The OV64B periscopic telephoto lens has a 64 Mpx resolution and 3x optical zoom (70 millimeter focal length), or 6x in-sensor hybrid zoom (140 millimeter focal length). The third eye on the back is a 48 Mpx wide-angle IMX581 camera with a 114° angle of view. You will soon be convinced of the qualities of all cameras in the review we are preparing for you.

Price and availability

OnePlus 12 will head to the Czech market in the coming days. It will be available in black and green color variants and in a single configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The price is CZK 26,990 including VAT, but it will be available at selected retailers until February 20 at a promotional price of CZK 24,490. You can use this promotion at Mobile Emergency.

At the same time, at the end of the month, a slightly lighter version of the OnePlus 12R in a pleasant blue color will be available in the Czech Republic. This model will go on sale for 17,490 CZK including VAT.
