From OnePlus 10 Pro has been officially announced in China. A lot has been said and written about the new top model in recent weeks, partly because the manufacturer released numerous teasers. This phone will be available in the Netherlands from the spring, it is now stated on the website mention. Online there has been talk for some time about an international release in early April 2022. It is the first Android 12 smartphone from OnePlus and also the first to be powered by the extremely powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

With the OnePlus 10 Pro, the company is putting the focus on the camera, which was designed in collaboration with the renowned Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad. The phone also features a large and bright 6.7” rounded AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The new top model is available in two colors: Emerald Forest (green) and Volcanic Black (black).

OnePlus has also designed several new wallpapers for the OnePlus 10 Pro. It concerns three images that have a similar theme, but are designed in different color tones. The backgrounds match well with the green and black color in which the phone is available. The wallpapers can be used to enrich your home and/or lock screen. Of course you can also download and use the images on any other phone model.
In addition to the three still wallpapers, OnePlus also installs various dynamic wallpapers for the 10 Pro – these moving backgrounds are designed in the same style as the still images.
Although the front looks the same as the OnePlus 9 ProThe rear has been completely redone. The camera system in particular catches the eye. The camera island extends to the side of the phone, as we also know from the Samsung Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S22 series. However, OnePlus has opted for a square arrangement. The device looks stylish and, in my opinion, looks a lot more modern than the 9 Pro launched last year.
The camera configuration has largely remained the same. A 48MP wide-angle camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom have been chosen again. The 2MP monochrome camera has been omitted this time, but no one will miss it.
It is striking that the ultra-wide-angle camera and lens have also been renewed. However, it is a smaller image sensor – rather than larger. This is remarkable, because a large sensor is able to capture more detail, a large image sensor is also desired for evening and night shots. An advantage of the new lens is that the angle of view has been increased, from 120 degrees to 150 degrees. This way you can also take fish-eye photos with the OnePlus 10 Pro.
The first expert reviews will soon have to show whether the new model actually delivers better image quality. There is a new Pro mode available, improved color calibration and a new Night mode, according to OnePlus.
It is an extremely powerful smartphone, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This 4nm 5G chipset will be used in more high-end models in the coming period. The Motorola Moto Edge X30 and the Xiaomi 12 are already equipped with this SoC. Soon the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and Oppo Find X5 series, which will also be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest showpiece.

The phone is also equipped with the latest software, it concerns Android 12. The user interface has been adjusted, in China the phone is equipped with ColorOS 12, from Oppo. In Europe, the OxygenOS name will be maintained for the time being. Nevertheless, OxygenOS 12 will have many similarities with Oppo’s ColorOS interface, as the two companies already announced last year. Enthusiasts of the brand, however, see absolutely no added value in this.
The question is what this will mean for the sales figures of the OnePlus 10 Pro. Although the phone comes with high-end specs, the company seems to have lost its connection with its fans. While the community has always been a very important pillar for OnePlus.
The OnePlus 10 Pro is equipped with an extra large capacity battery of 5,000 mAh. The phone supports 50W wireless charging and 80W wired charging. Thus, the battery of the phone can be recharged in no time. By the way, it concerns AirVooC and SuperVooC charging technology from Oppo. The Find X5 (Pro), expected around April, is expected to have the same charging specifications. Previously, the charging speed of OnePlus and Oppo phones was limited to 65W.
The new top model is available in China in three memory variants, the suggested retail price per model is shown below. It is important to note that European prices will be higher, partly due to VAT (21%) and surcharges. The 9 Pro went on sale in the Netherlands last year for a starting price of € 900. There is a good chance that the new model will be sold for around the same price.
