One Way and Odd Even Applied on Java Toll Roads During Mudik Arus

Traffic Corps (Korlantas) Police will implement the policy one way and the odd-even system during the homecoming flow Eid 2022.

Head of Traffic Police Inspector General Firman Shantyabudi said this policy was taken because it was predicted that around 47 percent or 200 thousand vehicles would go home simultaneously.

“In the implementation of the homecoming, we will apply the policy one way and odd even equals, “Word told reporters, Wednesday (13/4).

Policy one way and this even odd is applied when contra flow still not able to parse the density of traffic flow.

Firman said this step needs to be taken so that vehicles can still move or pass and are not stuck in severe traffic jams on toll roads.

“Therefore, road capacity management is needed, namely at the simplest, we will add one lane in the form of contra flowalso still less we will do one way from Jakarta to the east,” he said.

However, Firman reminded that this one-way policy will have an impact on vehicles going to Jakarta, which cannot pass on toll roads.

Firman said later there would be officers who would provide directions or guidance to motorists if the one way policy was implemented.

“There are officers who guide, they will not allow members of the public to enter their respective toll gates, but will be straightened towards the arterial route to avoid wasting fuel, long waiting times,” said Firman.

“We advise those who will move towards Jakarta to pay attention to when we end one way, so we hope that excellent road service is maximized,” he added.

Firman also said that people need to prepare themselves and really make sure that their vehicles can pass when odd-even is applied.

“The public can prepare themselves before leaving the vehicle which has a number plate when it can be used,” he said.
