With Samsung’s power in the Android smartphone market, each One UI update is eagerly awaited by users. Thus, over time, the South Korean giant’s proprietary overlay has become a real ecosystem within the ecosystem, taking on an importance just as great as Android, the original OS of the devices, in the eyes of the Samsung community.
So, now that the development of version 7 of the overlay has been confirmed, everyone is waiting for each piece of information with particular attention. And, recently, it is Ice Universe, a credible leaker, who has released what could be the list of new features to come under One UI 7.

What’s new with One UI 7?

On the program therefore, Samsung seems to reserve a set of interface additions for us, notably for the basic areas of smartphones as well as for the camera. In addition, some technical improvements are announced, allowing among other things the sending and receiving of messages via 5G networks. But, to note, version 7.1 should bring more new features on the functionalities side.
In detail, here are the revelations made by Ice Universe:
New interface elements:
- System Icons
- Background
- Lock screen control area
- Shortcut icon
- Managing notification icons
- New interruptible animations
- New battery and charging icon
New specific interface:
- Unlock animation
- Redesigned camera interface
- Added widgets for lock screen
- Adding widgets to the home screen
New technical elements:
- Support for SMS in 5G network
- Likely to add enriched SMS
- Integration of larger folders

And the release date of One UI 7?
For now, all of these elements come from a credible, but unofficial leak. More information should therefore come to confirm, or deny, this information. However, we must take into account the recent delays announced by Samsung in its development schedule for OneUI 7. At first glance, the release of the first versions of the overlay is not for right away…
