A 26-year-old shepherd died and another 45-year-old was injured after a bear attacked them. The wounded man asked for help and immediately in search of his missing colleague, dozens of volunteers and authorities from two counties set off.

Unfortunately, the young man was found dead, dragged through the wilderness. The wounded shepherd needed extensive reconstruction. Police have launched an investigation into culpable homicide and bodily harm.
When he was picked up by rescuers, the shepherd injured by the bear was in shock.
The attack took place on Friday evening, near a sheepfold in Harghita County, on the border with Suceava. The shepherds discovered a wild-torn cow in the forest. And at that moment they were, in turn, attacked. One of them managed to escape and ask for help through 112. Immediately, the rescuers mobilized:

“According to the data received in the ISU Suceava Dispatch Office, this morning, around 7:40, the gendarmes from Suceava found the body of the 26-year-old man, who was reported missing on Friday night.
It was located at a distance of about 300 meters from the place where it was last observed inside the forest. Unfortunately, his injuries were incompatible with life.
The gendarmes took him over and asked for the support of the Salvamont crews, in order to lower him from the mountain, towards Harghita county ”, it is shown in a press release.
The incident happened in the area of the forest fund belonging to three counties – Harghita, Suceava and Mureş – so joint teams of mountain gendarmes, mountain rescuers and police intervened.
