KOMPAS.com – Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong has one special request if Erick Thohir is elected as PSSI chairman through the Extraordinary Congress (KLB).
The PSSI KLB will be held in Jakarta on Thursday (16/2/2203). The event will determine who will become the general chairman (ketum), deputy general chairman (waketum), and PSSI executive committee (exco) for the 2023-2027 period.
For the position of PSSI chairman, there are five names running for themselves, namely La Nyalla Mattalitti, Arif Putra Wicaksono, Doni Setiabudi, Fary Djemi Francis, and Erick Thohir.
However, the day before the 2023 PSSI KLB was held, the list of candidates for the general chairman (caketum) of PSSI decreased by one after Fary Djemi Francis resigned.

Of the four PSSI caketums above, Erick Thohir is a figure well known to the coach of the Indonesian national team Shin Tae-yong.
Shin Tae-yong and Erick Thohir have met in person on several occasions.
“I have met Mr. Erick Thohir and Mr. President Joko Widodo in South Korea,” said Shin Tae-yong, quoted from Antara News, Wednesday (15/2/2023).
“I also met Pak Erick several times at the stadium. We are not close but we know each other,” he added.

However, Shin Tae-yong did not want to show support for one of the candidates for the general chairman of PSSI for the 2023-2027 period.
He hopes that whoever becomes the new PSSI administrator must be able to develop Indonesian football.
“Not only that, but PSSI’s administration must also develop. In that case, we will develop together so that there can be a good synergy effect for everyone,” said Shin.
However, if later Erick Thohir is elected as general chairman of PSSI 2023-2027, Shin Tae-yong has one request.

The South Korean tactician asked Erick Thohir to hold a meeting. The agenda was to plan the repair of the federation.
“For example, Mr. Erick, who is the general chairman, I will immediately ask for a meeting to discuss what needs to be improved at PSSI,” said Shin Tae-yong.
Shin Tae-yong is currently leading the Indonesian U20 national team training camp (TC) in Jakarta.
The closest, Indonesia will appear in the 2023 U20 Asian Cup (1-18 March) and the 2023 U20 World Cup (20 May-11 June).
