One Plus, a close cousin of Oppo, landed in the mid-2010s by offering very powerful smartphones at an incredibly contained price. We remember the One Plus 3 offered at the time at €400, capable of standing up to the iPhone 7 at more than double the price. The years have passed and the Chinese manufacturer has become a decidedly more premium brand thanks to its latest One Plus 9 Pro and 10 Pro offered at around 1000€.
However, One Plus has not forgotten its roots and the objective behind the Nord series is much the same as for its first iterations of the flaghship killer. It is precisely the Nord 2 that interests us today, thanks to an exceptional reduction offered by Orange and giving the right to very honorable performances.
On the processor side, it is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and was developed in partnership with One Plus for optimal use on the Chinese company’s smartphones. The SoC is indeed smart since it is able to run all the games on the Play Store in optimal conditions, while keeping a good framerate. The 8 GB of RAM allocated allows the phone to remain fluid in all circumstances thanks to an optimized management of applications in the background.
On the screen side, we are entitled to a beautiful 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD + resolution (1080×2400 pixels). The contrast is almost infinite, the colors are well calibrated and appear nuanced and pleasing to the eye. The refresh rate is limited to 90 Hz.
Regarding autonomy, it is excellent and the phone very easily lasts a whole day. To top it off, the smartphone supports 65W fast charging, which allows for a 30-minute recharge.
