The most famous jolly roger in manga history appears and the straw hat begins to descend. When it reaches the bottom of the main screen, all of Times Square synchronizes and fills with the protagonists of One Piece, the piracy manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. On the evening of October 9, New York’s most iconic plaza filled with commercials for Red, the latest One Piece movie.
The film has already been released in other countries, starting with Japan. It will be released in US theaters on November 4th. The event brought together fans of the saga and professionals. On TikTok and Instagram you will find images depicting fans dressed as protagonists of Oda’s work while on Twitter the comment by Colleen Clinkenbeard, Luffy’s English voice actress, appeared: “I have no words. One Piece stormed Times Square tonight and it was fantastic. My heart bursts ”.
When One Piece Red will be released in Italy
One Piece is the manga of records. In August it surpassed 500 million copies sold. Its popularity has also exploded outside of Japan. In addition to the United States, Red will also arrive in Italy where it will be in theaters from 1 December with the Italian dubbing. Those who can’t wait will be able to see it with subtitles in the original language on 7 and 8 November. The film is directed by Gorō Taniguchi and was produced by Toei Animation.
