Moscow: One of the scientists who was part of the team that developed Sputnik V, Russia’s covid vaccine, has died.
A Russian media outlet reported that Andrey Botykov was found strangled to death with a belt in his home.
Police arrested a 29-year-old youth in the incident. Police said that an argument between the two led to the murder.
Botykov, 47, is a senior researcher at the Gamelaya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow.
In 2020, Sputnik was one of 18 researchers who developed the vaccine.
