The German magazine “Helpraxisent” said that erythritol, which is used as a substitute for sugar, increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
The German magazine was responsible for a new study, in which experts at the Cleveland Clinic in the United States participated, which confirmed that there is a relationship between erythritol and glucose, and atherosclerosis and blood clotting in the blood vessels.
This substance is found in some types of fruit and fermented food, and this sugar is produced industrially by fermenting corn or glucose with moniliellabolin yeast.
The sweetness of this substance is equal to 60-70% of the sweetness of table sugar, and its calories are close to zero.
The German magazine emphasized that more research is needed to confirm this issue, but with these symptoms present, it might be wise to limit the consumption of erythritol in the diet.
