Stranger Things is preparing to enter the final phase of its compelling story that began in 2016. As widely anticipated in recent months, the eagerly awaited fifth season of the series will definitively conclude the story of the group of friends residing in Hawkins, which began in 2016 while fans await with growing impatience the arrival of the new episodes.
However, it’s not just fans who are preparing to say goodbye to their favorite show. The star of the series David Harbourinterpreter of Jim Hopper, said in a recent interview that his time on the Netflix show is coming to an end and that the time has come to embark on new projects:
The funny thing is, when I started the show I wished it would never end. That’s why I love it. I think it would have been a great show without me. We are now almost nine years since filming the first season, and I think it’s time to say the word end. But it is, of course, very bittersweet. You know, there’s a certain sadness in that, but then again we’ve all grown up. It’s time for us to leave this safe haven and try other things and different projects. And let the Duffer brothers test themselves on different things as well. I mean, those guys are so talented. I want to see what they get up to next. So yeah, it’s bittersweet, but it’s definitely the right time.
We still don’t know what folds the plot of the fifth season will take, however the Duffer Brothers have revealed in a recent interview how some narrative solutions inserted in the writing of the new episodes have managed to move even Netflix executives:
Our ideas for Season 5 have been really well received by Netflix. In short, it was difficult, after all it is the end of the story. I’ve seen executives cry that I’ve never seen before cry, and it was very intense. And it’s not just about the story, it’s something that has defined so many of our lives so much, and for these folks at Netflix who have been with us since the very beginning — for seven years — it’s hard to imagine that all of this is about to end.
The fourth season of Stranger Things was split into two parts, with the first seven episodes arriving on Netflix last June and followed the next month by the two concluding episodes. The episodes of the fourth season have seen a change of direction i Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy e Antal Nimród.
Between old and new faces, the cast of the series allowed us to appreciate the performances of Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Man Ferguson, Dear Good, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, edward frank, Jamie Bower e Robert Englund.
At the moment the probable release window of the fifth and final season of the series has not yet been communicated, in the meantime we remind you that the first four seasons of Stranger Things are currently available to stream on Netflix.
