Hong Kong businessman Lee Man Tat, also known as the King of Soy Sauce, has died. The chairman of the company for production of spices Lee Kum Kee was among the oldest billionaires in the world – 91 years old.
An official statement from the company states that Lee died peacefully at his home. In it, he is described as “an inspiring leader with a unique and progressive vision for development,” Money.bg reported. “He is committed to the cause of promoting Chinese culinary culture and a healthy diet and has created a sustainable society within the group,” the statement said.
With a net worth of $ 17.4 billion, the King of Soy Sauce ranked 6th richest in Hong Kong, according to the Forbes list of the richest people in the world. At 91, Lee was one of the oldest super-rich. In the first place on this indicator is the American businessman George Joseph, who is 99 years old. He is the founder of the insurance company Mercury General. He is followed by three 97-year-old billionaires.
