One of Britain’s most wanted men has been arrested in Plovdiv, he has learned Plovdiv24.bg. Benjamin Makan, 32, was arrested yesterday (Monday) at a hotel in the city after a two-year search.

He had a fake passport and a real passport in someone else’s name.

He was found and arrested after an operation by the National Crime Agency, the Bulgarian police and the Spanish Civil Guard.

A public call for support for the pursuit of Makan was made in January this year, when the NCA and Crimestoppers launched a new campaign for the most wanted individuals, including 12 fugitives believed to be hiding in Spain.

He is wanted by Norfolk police for an alleged Class A drug conspiracy. Makan is the fifth fugitive on the list to be arrested since the start of the Most Wanted campaign in January.

He is currently in custody and is expected to be extradited.
