If you’re looking for a real thrill this Halloween, why not visit one of the most haunted hotels in America? The Hotel del Coronado, an iconic property in San Diego, has been included in the list of the most haunted hotels of 2024, according to Historic Hotels of America.
This famous hotel is not only known for its stunning Victorian architecture, but also for the paranormal phenomena that have been reported over the years. James Van Praagh, a renowned medium, says the hotel is “beautiful and extremely haunted”, with more than a century of unexplained stories.
Among the most talked about experiences are the appearances of a girl dressed in Victorian style, a woman in white, and objects that move on their own. Even hotel workers have reported hearing the sound of pots and pans moving inexplicably in the kitchens, and report items mysteriously shifting around in the gift shop.
However, the hotel’s most famous ghost is that of Kate Morgan, a woman who died there in 1892 and who is said to have never left the building. Room 3327, where he stayed, is the most requested by visitors seeking a paranormal experience. Another room famous for its supernatural phenomena is room 3519, where in 1992 parapsychologist Christopher Chacon spent 12 months documenting anomalous events.
In addition to this iconic hotel in San Diego, two other hotels in California were included on the list: the Claremont Club & Spa in Berkeley and the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in Sonoma.
