Malta closes borders to non-vaccinated tourists

To enter the country, children will be required to present a negative PCR test for coronavirus infection.

The Maltese authorities have banned tourists who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus from entering the country. The restriction will take effect from July 14. This was announced on Friday, July 9, by Health Minister Chris Fern, writes Times of Malta.

“Everyone who will come to the country will have to show a vaccination certificate recognized by Malta, the European Union or the UK. Only children under 12 years old will be allowed without vaccination if they are accompanied by vaccinated parents. But they must also prove that they are healthy,” the head said departments.

In addition, English language schools will be closed in Malta from 14 July. The minister noted that cases of COVID-19 have been identified in nine such educational institutions.

“We will be the first country to take such a step,” Fern said.

He noted that most of the new COVID-19 cases in Malta are related to overseas travel. Moreover, almost all new infections are found in people who have not been vaccinated.

Previously WHO named the real number of deaths from coronavirus… The real mortality rate from coronavirus is 2-3 times higher than the official figures. In fact, about 6-8 million people have already died since the start of the pandemic.

It was also reported that WHO expects new deadly virus to emerge… The current pandemic is not the last in the world and it is necessary to increase the rate of vaccination in order to cope with it, say the WHO.
