One of the cheapest fuels costs CZK 1.85 per kWh. It can be obtained in different ways

Today, more and more people want more energy independence and are therefore returning to heating methods where they can buy fuel themselves in advance and manage consumption effectively. These heating methods also include wood pellets, which not only give homes a certain level of independence, but also comfort and very low emotions. But what form is it best to buy these wood pellets?

How much will it cost you?

Like the prices of most other fuels, the price of wood pellets has gone through a lot of change over the past few years. This year, however, it stabilized and currently it is around CZK 8 per kilogram. If we count on the efficiency of the pellet boiler to be around 90%, the price of 1 kWh of heat obtained thanks to the pellets will cost us around 1.85 CZK. This price therefore ranks heating with pellets among the most beneficial methods. Wood, of course, is still a cheaper option, but also much less comfortable.

What is this fuel made from?

Pellets are a fuel that can be clean and without additives. These are small rollers that are pressed from wood shavings and shavings that would otherwise be waste. Since these rollers have a standard size, the boiler can operate automatically and adjust. The conveyor, as the name suggests, transports the pellets directly into the boiler using a narrow pipe. Before being pressed, the sawdust is dried to a moisture content of 10 to 15%, because the pellets have a very high caloric value, which is, of course, desirable.

Good place for banned boilers

Already in September of this year, the ban on the operation of solid fuel boilers of the 1st and 2nd emission classes came into force. A large number of households chose a pellet boiler as an alternative, as it is a relatively cheap heating source that is also very comfortable. The most important difference between a wood boiler and a pellet boiler is an operational problem. In the case of pellet boilers, the fuel can be delivered to the boiler automatically, thus without work. The boiler turns itself on, turns itself on and cleans itself. It is even possible to connect it to a mobile application, from which you can manage the heating conveniently. For example, you can look at the prices of efficient pellet boilers here.

What format is better to buy?

If you have a pellet boiler at home, you can choose the format in which you buy the pellets. They are available in packages of 10, 15 or 20 kg, with the most common being the 15-kilogram ones. The second option is loose bullets. Each of these solutions has its positive and negative characteristics.

Among the advantages of bagged bullets is that you can store them practically anywhere you have enough space, and they are very easy to handle. Plus, it’s a clean solution that doesn’t require any extra work. You don’t need to order a bunch of pills right away, just the minimum amount you need right now. The quality of the pellets should always be marked on the bag, often their heating value and other parameters.

In addition, bullets are loose. The manufacturer or retailer stores them in bulk and brings them to you in a tanker or other transport vehicle. This group also includes pellets in large bags. The advantage is that the pellets produced in this way can be pressed directly into the warehouse. If you choose this option, you don’t need to carry anything, and the pellets will be pumped into your warehouse using a hose. However, the customer must not have any obstacles in the warehouse. The person who delivers the pellets to you will inspect the warehouse, and if he is not allowed to inspect the warehouse or if he finds your warehouse inadequate, he can refuse to blow. And finally, the most important thing, ie the price. Bulk pellets are usually cheaper than those in bags.

Whether you buy pellets in bags or in bulk is up to you, largely based on your current situation, storage space and the amount of pellets you need. The quality is not higher for any variant, more than the form of delivery depends on the correct storage of the pellets.
