As if out of the blue, DrDisrespect, one of the largest streamers on Twitch, was banned from the platform for as yet unexplained reasons. Various theories about the case are now circulating on the Internet.
Herschel “DrDisrespect” Beahm seemed to have a promising streaming career on Twitch a week ago. In March he signed an exclusive contract with Twitch for several years. But now Twitch has apparently permanently banished him from the platform.

Herschel “DrDisrespect” Beahm IV, born in 1982, is an American streamer with over 4.4 million followers on Twitch. He is best known for his macho style.

The reasons for this are not yet known. After a few days of silence, DrDisrespect also spoke up and explained on Twitter that even he hadn’t found out the specific reason from Twitch. However, the last moments in his stream suggest that he was informed about the ban in advance.

Because a few minutes before the end of his last stream, he seemed to be reading a message on his cell phone that suddenly affected his mind, even if it wasn’t as obvious through his sunglasses. Apparently depressed, he closed the stream with the words: «I would like to thank everyone who watched today. We’ll get through this. Life is strange at the moment. But we’ll get through this, okay? Damn it!”
Almost like an investigation team, the entire community is now trying to find out what could have led to the banishment of DrDisrespect. Some see the possibility of another, but still unsubstantiated case of sexual harassment.
Others suspect that after the end of Mixer DrDisrespect, streamers Ninja and Shroud plan to set up their own streaming platform, with DrDisrespect attempting to poach Twitch streamers.
And still others see a PR gag that should help DrDisrespect to get more attention. Whether he could get Twitch on board with such an idea is very questionable. In addition to former Twitch employees, eSports reporter Rod Breslau also confirms that this is a serious issue. In a tweet, he claims to have learned the reason from a credible source. Due to the scope and explosiveness of the topic, he did not make a statement yet.
