Yesterday, Saturday, Isis claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack that hit a security checkpoint in eastern Egypt’s Ismailia governorate on Friday evening, killing and wounding 15 people.
Egyptian security forces had thwarted an attack on a security force in the vicinity of the Al-Salihin mosque in Ismailia, and were able to deal with it, killing one of those involved.
Ismailia entrances and exits closed
Forces have combed the area for the rest of the escaped perpetrators in the adjacent desert areas, while the governorate’s entrances and exits have been closed.
According to information, a terrorist group attempted to attack the security checkpoint beside Al-Salihin mosque, shooting its members and fleeing before the forces chased and besieged them in Al-Dawais area in Al-Qassasin .
Who is the executor?
According to information, the assassinated terrorist is Youssef Abdel Rahman Salman Hussein, whose nickname is Abu Al-Muthanna, aged 25, and belongs to a family who embraced intellectual ideology in Gilbana area of Ismailia.
Security alarm
The Egyptian authorities had declared a state of security alert in the past few hours, in conjunction with the city’s Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.
The authorities decided to designate security posts and points, conduct security patrols and push rapid intervention and deployment forces in all axes, streets, roads, squares and vital areas, as well as female police services participating in inspection operations and insurance and security department police elements and guard dogs were used to comb the perimeter of the facilities.
