Portal Rock Paper Shotgun found out that the hotly anticipated post-apocalyptic thriller Atomic Heart from the developers of the studio Mundfish at tomorrow’s launch will be missing one of the promised technical features.
We’re talking about ray tracing – from the first demonstration at Atomic Heart in the summer of 2018 to the trailer released by NVIDIA just a month ago, the technology has been one of the most publicized features of the game.
The Atomic Heart build sent for press review did not support ray tracing, and a Rock Paper Shotgun journalist found out from the game’s PR team that “the developers will consider implementing it after the release”.
The fact that the console versions of Atomic Heart will remain without ray tracing at launch was mentioned in a recent interview by Mundfish co-founder and head Robert Bagratuni, but he did not say anything about the delay of the function for the PC.
Atomic Heart releases tomorrow, February 21, on PC (Steam, VK Play in the CIS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox). Previously, the press gave the game the first ratings, and YouTube began to upload recordings of the passage.
