One new death in Limburg

The health services in Limburg have registered one new death with a corona infection last day. In the same period, the number of hospital admissions increased by two patients.

The GGD Noord-Limburg reports, not for the first time, that no corona victims have been killed. Also, no one was hospitalized as a result of an infection with the Covid-19 virus. Colleagues in South Limburg have seen an increase over the last day, although very little: one infected person has died, two have been hospitalized. As a result, a total of 656 people with the virus died in this province and 1,521 infected Limburgers were hospitalized or discharged therefrom.

The RIVM figures also show a calm picture of the development of the virus. The central government has figures per municipality, but these are slightly more delayed than the GGD numbers and are also recorded slightly differently. That is why the GGD figures differ slightly from those of RIVM.

Urban municipalities

Jaap van Dissel’s organization shows five new deaths for all Limburg municipalities. The deceased persons, like the last weeks, mainly come from the urban municipalities: Maastricht (2), Heerlen (1), Sittard-Geleen (1) and Gulpen-Wittem (1). The new RIVM list only includes one new hospital admission in all of Limburg. It concerns a person from Heerlen.

Peel en Maas is the municipality with the largest number of hospital admissions per 100,000 inhabitants. Municipalities in the region of East Brabant then follow: Boekel, Bernheze, Cranendonck, den, Meijerijstad and Landerd. However, only one infected person from Peel en Maas, with the severely affected core Kessel, has been hospitalized in the past week.
