New York Yankees received another ‘complicated’ news in the last hours as it was announced that one more piece of equipment has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), adding to the already eight confirmed cases that have contracted this virus. One of the members of the ‘Bronx Bombers’ who tested positive was Gleyber Torres, who has already missed several days of the 2021 Season of MLB.
Aaron Boone, manager of the New York Yankees reported this Sunday morning, May 16, that the team has a more positive element in the coronavirus test (COVID-19), increasing cases within the organization.
The helmsman of the Bronx team told the media that the positive member is part of the squad that has traveled for the series as a visitor in recent days of the 2021 MLB Season.
“We are just doing the best we can and luckily he is one or more who feels good, so we will continue to try to monitor and manage him to the best of our ability,” Boone told reporters.
The Yankees did not disclose the name of the element that tested positive for this ‘tireless’ virus, but the helmsman said it is a support member of the staff, who will be replaced by someone else in Sunday’s game against Baltimore and the games against Texas Rangers.
This is the ninth positive case in the New York Yankees organization in the last week. Among those infected are coach Phil Nevin and Venezuelan shortstop Gleyber Torres.
