UA call for tenders launched last fall made it possible to award a contract for architectural and engineering services. Consultants Akonovia inc. de Laval won it for $ 30,700. Six other bidders were on the list.
“The realization of the plans and specifications is therefore underway”, specifies Martin Roy, from the communications department at the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI), which is piloting the project.
The land on which the new SQ de la Haute-Yamaska post will be erected is located in Waterloo. A promise to purchase has been presented for land located on route 241, facing rue Fortin. The address has not yet been disclosed by the SQI, which however specifies that “the transaction is about to be completed”.
When the plans and specifications are ready, the Company will once again go to tender for the construction work. When their choice will be made on a contractor, it will take two years before construction is completed.
The agents of the SQ of Haute-Yamaska, whose police station is currently located in the same building as the Waterloo city hall, should therefore integrate their new headquarters in the summer of 2023.
