The wages of one million white-collar workers will be indexed from January 1, 2023. This is thanks to the Automatic Wage Indexation Act, which ensures that wages rise along with the cost of living.
Living has become very expensive in the last year, partly due to the war in Ukraine which has pushed up the prices of gas and other commodities. As we experienced a peak inflation of 12.27% in 2022 (in October), many wages were also expected to rise substantially.
