One Life to Live Star Kamar de los Reyes Dies After Cancer Diagnosis in Los Angeles at 55

The star of One Life to Live, Kamar de los Reyes, died Sunday in Los Angeles shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. A representative of his family was the one who confirmed it to People. Kamar was known for playing the villain Antonio Vega on the ABC soap opera from 1995 to 2009.

De los Reyes also starred Sleepy Hollow and most recently appeared in seven episodes of the hit CW series All American as Coach Montes from 2022 to 2023.

He also voiced the character of Raúl Menéndez in the popular video game franchise. Call Of Duty and participated in the hit ABC series The Rookie.

According to a statement issued by representatives of his family, De los Reyes was born on November 8, 1967 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up in Las Vegas, where he loved to sing and dance. He came to Los Angeles in the 80s to fulfill his dream of being an artist.

In 1994, de los Reyes played the role of Pedro Quinn in the acclaimed off-Broadway play, Blade to the Heat.

De los Reyes is survived by his wife, the actress Sherri Saumand his sons Caylen, 26 years old, from a previous relationship, and the twins Michael y John, 9 years old, who he shared with Saum. He is also survived by his brothers. Daniel y Walfredo Jr., her sisters Lily e in the province and his parents Matilda y Walfredo.

At the time of his death, de los Reyes was filming All American and had filmed roles in the upcoming Hulu limited series Washington Blackstarring Sterling K. Brown. He also had a role in the upcoming series Marvel Daredevil.
