Greensboro, NC.- One person was injured after a plane crashed on a North Carolina interstate highway Wednesday night, August 28.
Greensboro police said a small-engine plane made a “hard landing” on I-840 West near the I-73 interchange.

According to authorities, Piedmont Triad Airport Communications received a distress call from the plane, which reported a mechanical failure just before 8 p.m. Two people were on board.
After landing, police said a vehicle traveling on the interstate highway collided with the plane, which had already stopped.

One person on board the plane suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. No one else was hurt.
Images captured at the scene showed the plane with apparent damage to its starboard wing, along with a four-door sedan on the shoulder of the road.

According to FlightAware records, a search of the aircraft’s tail number revealed it to be a single-engine Beechcraft 35 Bonanza.

Flight information shows the plane took off around 6:15 p.m. from Thomson-McDuffie Regional Airport in Georgia.
Authorities said they are investigating the cause of the landing.
