Corona Direct paints a composite picture of the insurance portfolio of Belgians.
As Money Week begins, Belfius looked at the level of coverage of Belgian policyholders and their loss experience. No less than 77% of Belgians have taken out five or more types of insurance.
Unsurprisingly, the most popular insurance policies relate to cars and homes: 24% of Belgians have already needed home insurance; 88% of Belgians say they have home insurance; 69% own their home and 31% are tenants. But 75% of respondents don’t know that home insurance is the same as fire insurance. Contrary to what this synonym suggests, this insurance does not only cover damage caused by fire.
