One in three die: a case of cetacean encephalitis, which is transmitted by mosquitoes, has been identified

“This is the first time we have seen a person with cetacean encephalitis in Massachusetts since 2020. This is a rare but dangerous disease. Therefore, we urge local residents to take precautions and protect themselves and their animals from mosquito bites,” said Public Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein.
