One in ten jobs at minimum wage gone | Financial

In 2020 there were 438,000 worker jobs at the minimum wage, 52,000 less than the year before. Minimum wage jobs make up 5.2% of all employee jobs. This share has not been this low since 2006. The share of minimum wage jobs fell in particular in transport and storage.

In 2020 there were 8.4 million jobs, 110,000 fewer than in 2019.

In absolute numbers, the decline was greatest in the rental and other business services sector, which also includes employment agencies.

Many minimum wage jobs disappeared in the government, but the number of other jobs did increase. In ICT, financial services and education, both the number of minimum wage jobs and the number of other jobs increased.
