Secretary General at the federation of the Belgian water and soft drink industry VIWF, David Marquenie, is not surprised by the high percentage. He notes, however, that the European figures can also be viewed in a different way. “If you look at the volumes – how much we drink – you get 123 liters of soft drink per person per year for Belgium. In Germany that is 141, in Denmark 134, in Hungary 138,” he told Het Nieuwsblad newspaper.
