After the lukewarm first half, the second already brought an exciting game and a goal in the opening match of the 30th round of the NB I football.
On Friday, Zalaegerszeg won a one-goal victory over Puskás Akadémia, who were fighting for a place on the podium, in the opening match of the 30th round of the football OTP Bank League. With their success, the blue and whites mathematically secured their top-flight membership, while the fourth-placed team had their five-round unbeaten streak broken.

Both teams attacked and threw themselves into the fight with great momentum, so the first 15 minutes brought enjoyable football despite the fact that no chances were created. With the passage of time, the meeting turned into a barren and balanced field battle, which was also indicated by the fact that there were hardly any attempts to hit the goal. The home goalkeeper had to intervene three times, the guest twice, but neither of them needed a feat, so the sides could go to the dressing room with a scoreless draw.
The picture of the game did not change even after the change of half, the game was mostly played between the two penalty areas, so the goals were almost never in danger. Turning to the last twenty minutes, the team from Felcsút was just beginning to gain the upper hand, but the home team unexpectedly took the lead. When they were at a disadvantage, the guests switched to a higher gear, but they could not break the organized domestic defense – Dombó once made a huge save on Favorov’s five-meter header – so the Puskás Academy left Zalaegerszeg without a point.
