One Direction stars have broken their silence following the death of Liam Payne –

One Direction singer Liam Payne, 31, died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. Now, about a day later, Liam’s bandmates commented on his passing.

– We are totally shocked by Liam’s passing. We all take time to process our grief for the brother we lost. With time and our abilities, we will talk about it more.

The men say they will cherish their shared memories of Liam forever.

– Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him tremendously.

– We love you Liam.

The update is signed by Liam’s bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles.

Harry Styles

In his update, Harry Styles praises Liam’s joie de vivre.

– Liam lived an open life and his joie de vivre was infectious. It was an honor to walk alongside him, Styles writes.

– Liam was warm, encouraging and incredibly loving. The years we spent together will always be the years I deeply cherish in my life. I will always miss him, my dear friend.

Styles extends his condolences to Liam’s loved ones and those who loved Liam as he did.

Louis Tomlinson

Tomlinson shared a photo with Liam on his Instagram account. Tomlinson writes about their first meeting and their warm-hearted experience.

– I met Liam for the first time when he was 16 years old, and I was 18 myself. I was amazed by his voice for the first time. But it is even more important that over time I got to know my kind brother, the kind I had longed for all my life.

Tomlinson praises Liam’s musical gifts. Tomlinson says Liam was in many ways the most important part of One Direction. Tomlinson writes a message to Liam at the end.

– A message for you Liam, if you can hear me: I’m more than lucky to have you in my life. However, it’s really hard for me to say goodbye. I’m so thankful that we became even closer after the band, that we talked on the phone for hours. I thought I could keep you for the rest of my life. But it wasn’t meant to be.

– I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me, I will be the uncle he needs in his life to tell him stories about how great his father was. I wish I had one more chance to say goodbye.

– Payno, my brother, one of my best friends, I love you man. Sleep well X, Tomlinson concludes his message

Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik also released a joint photo taken years ago with Liam Payne. Malik begins his message to Liam by guilting him into being selfish.

– Liam, I’ve found myself talking out loud to you, hoping you’ll hear me. I can’t help but selfishly think that we were meant to have so many more conversations. I never thanked you for supporting me through the hardest times of my life. When I was 17 years old and away from home, you were always there with a smile on my face, assuring me that I was loved and that you were my friend.

– Even though you were younger than me, you were always smarter than me. You were strong, you had opinions and you didn’t give a damn about telling people if they were wrong. Although we also got together a couple of times for this reason. I secretly appreciated you for them. When it comes to music, you were always the most talented of us. Compared to you, I knew nothing, I was a novice, a child, and you were already a professional. I knew that no matter what happened, I could always count on you on stage.

Malik goes on to say that he lost his brother with Liam’s passing.

– Words are not enough to describe what I would give if I could hug you one last time and say a proper goodbye. That I could tell you that I loved and respected you dearly. I will cherish the memories I made with you forever in my heart. I hope that wherever you are now, you are well and have found peace. And that you know how loved you are. I love you bro, Malik concludes.

Niall Horan has so far not released his own update after Liam’s death. According to the Daily Mail, the pair were inseparable. Liam Payne was at Niall Horan’s concert in Argentina on the second day of October.
