Liam Payne‘s funeral was held on November 20th (local time) at a church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, northwest of London. One Direction’s Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and former member Zayn Malik were in attendance. Also in attendance were his ex-girlfriend Cheryl, with whom he has a seven-year-old son, Bear, as well as One Direction founder Simon Cowell and James Corden.

Liam’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who had been with him in Argentina just days before his death, arrived accompanied by Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian Hurley. Most of them were wearing sunglasses, but there was also a scene where a tearful Simon exchanged words with Liam’s parents in front of the church. The coffin was brought in by horse-drawn carriage, and flowers with the words “DADDY” and “SON” written on them were also placed.

Liam fell from the balcony of his third-floor room at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16, and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. It has been revealed that Liam was in or near unconsciousness at the time, and that there was evidence of a combination of alcohol, cocaine and prescription anti-depressants in the at least 72 hours before his death. The cause of death was determined to be multiple trauma and internal and external bleeding due to a fall, with no self-inflicted injuries or physical intervention by a third party.

After this, Liam will be releasing Netflix’s new music competition series Building the Band, in which he served as a guest judge. According to a source close to the show, Liam, who participated in the filming, was said to have been satisfied with his experience as a judge, and said that he wanted to continue working with the bands he was involved with even after the show ended.
