One died in a serious accident in Trøndelag

On Wednesday, the emergency services responded to an accident in Orkanger with three vehicles involved, and several people involved.

– A man in his 60s has been confirmed dead in the accident, relatives have been notified, the police in Trøndelag write on Twitter.

He was the driver of a motorcycle, and collided with two cars.

No one else was physically injured. The accident happened on the E39 between Orkanger and Gjølme.

Operations Manager Christopher White says that the deceased is a man from Trøndelag.

– There were several witnesses, who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the spot. Health eventually came and took over, but unfortunately it was not possible to save his life. He was pronounced dead at the scene by health personnel, White told TV 2.

The road will still be blocked for a while. The police recommend a detour via Fylkesvei 65 and Hemnevegen.

– Forensic technicians from the police are on site now and doing their investigations. In addition, the accident group from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration will conduct their investigations, White explains.

“Very serious”

The police were notified of the incident at 20.19.

– A very serious accident, with several people involved. One person is critically injured, said operations manager Trond Volden to TV 2 at 9.30 pm.

– We do not have an overview of the course of events yet. It actually happened on a fairly clear and straightforward stretch of road, said Volden.

Catharina Morken stayed about 100 meters from where the accident happened.

– The ambulance has been standing there for almost an hour, so it looks like it is serious, Morken says to TV 2.

According to her, there have been several accidents on the stretch in the past.
