A very strong tremor on the highway this Monday around 13:30. Three cars collided on the A61 near Avignonet-Lauragais, in the direction of Toulouse – Montpellier at the height of the works. “Very violent shock” underline the firefighters of SDIS 31 on site with the SAMU.
A 20-year-old victim died, another was in relative emergency and two people escaped unharmed. The highway was cut in the direction of the accident. About fifteen firefighters intervened on the spot and a rescue helicopter was also associated with the intervention. According to initial reports, the main victim’s vehicle hit a concrete block head-on at the VINCI Highway site, causing two other cars to crash. The investigation was entrusted to the gendarmes of the Haute-Garonne departmental road safety team.
