The man handed over the analysis for the first time on Sunday, October 11, according to him, “interest in”. His son, a student of Natalija Draudziņa Secondary School, must pass the tests, and the nurse of the “Central Laboratory” has persuaded to perform the test himself. There were no symptoms, the man felt great.

One hour later, at the Central Laboratory on Monday, the presence of coronavirus in the body was both confirmed and denied, namely at 7.49 the Central Laboratory reported that Covid-19 had not been found, while at 9.01 the coronavir had been found. As one of the tests is positive, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) has imposed quarantine and restrictions.

According to “Panorama,” angry about such a case, the man called “E.Gulbis laboratory”, where the result of analyzes was negative.

After the incident, he started contacting the “Central Laboratory” about why the results of one smear are the opposite. All discussions with SPKC epidemiologists, who also determine this status, have ended without result.

Representatives of the “Central Laboratory” explain that this error is being investigated. As the person has also been reported to the SPC, a positive answer is considered correct.

The smear itself will now be inspected by an independent body. Līga Ribkinska, a representative of the “Central Laboratory”, explained to “Panorama” that in case of disagreement or doubt, as in this case, the sample can be sent to the reference laboratory of the Latvian Center of Infectious Diseases to see which analysis is real.

The SPKC, for its part, acknowledged that this was not the first time an error had occurred. These may occur depending on the scope of testing and laboratory workload.
