The impulse to create the show can also be found in a very prosaic condition – as the director notes, actresses after a certain age rarely have many roles. Ināra Slucka is the author of the show (although she does not call herself that), she is also a set designer and costume designer, but emphasizes that the new production is a joint work. “I have processed the material, created it, but we worked together. There is no text in the show, it takes place in silence. The actresses speak,” explains I. Slucka and does not try to put the show in any particular frame or genre. She adds that it is not necessary to explain before the show what is meant by it, because each viewer will find completely different things and details that interest them. “Actresses know their mission, they have their roles and story.”
Actresses have the opportunity to talk about women who are not written about in magazines. We women are so similar, however, and it doesn’t matter if we are on the cover of a magazine or not. There are no bright events, sensations, provocations in the lives of the characters of the show. The thoughts and feelings of these women are not known to their girlfriends, because they do not tend to shake their hearts. Rather, they will entrust their pain to a pillow or a cup of coffee, but will leave the house smiling and omnipotent. And yet their lives are the same as all of us – with loneliness, fear, pain, disappointment, joy and love. Three women and one day in their lives. Their ages, their characters are different, and therefore viewers will be able to look for similarities that are relevant to everyone today.
Then the show will be more dependent on the viewer, the audience of the particular evening? The director says that the performances will not be radically different, but the feelings may be different for each viewer. Ināra Slucka notes that a lot will also depend on the place from which the spectator will watch the show, which will take place in the New Hall and will be on view from September 11.
By the way, the director admits that he would like to play in this show, but then realized that its work would be even more difficult. Her task – to watch from the sidelines.
