“One Day as a Care Professional: A Glimpse into the World of the Visually Impaired”

A day as a professional care

Immerse yourself in the world of blind and visually impaired people for a day? Jonas and Gieri did this. The BBZ Zurich education and meeting center of the Swiss Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired offered an offer on Future Day 2022 as part of the special project “One day as a care professional”. The two participants experienced what it means to look after people with sensory impairments with responsibility. The film shows some of the impressions that the two boys gathered.

The Zurich Education and Meeting Center (in Dietikon) is managed by the Swiss Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired SBV. As a day care center it is open to all blind and visually impaired people. At the BBZ Zurich, these people receive support to discover, develop and train their own skills. In addition, the users produce products for local markets.

The special project gives young men an unbiased insight into caring professions and aims to break down prejudices when choosing a career.
