The footage of the 26-year-old woman in Beijing could have been taken out of a horror film. At the end of November, she participated in a protest against the handling and restrictions China introduced against corona.
But one by one several of the demonstrators have disappeared, writes CNN.

In the recording, the 26-year-old says that she has asked her friends to make the clip public if she disappears. Even then, she must have felt a sense of unease and danger.
– In other words, if you see this video, I have been caught by the police, says the woman.
Several hundred students at the leading Tsinghua University took part in the protest against the shutdown. According to CNN, several of the participants were quietly arrested by the authorities in the weeks that followed since November 27.
China’s zero-contagion policy was under severe pressure. But with the fight against infection came critical dissenting voices.
How many were arrested and imprisoned in connection with the protests is currently unknown. So is the number of those released.

The authorities have so far made no official statement about the arrests following the demonstrations, which took place in several places in the country.
In addition to opposition to the corona handling, the demonstrators wanted to remember the people who died in a fire in a building that was under lockdown due to infection.
