One and a half years after the loss of his son. Sanita Tauriņa: “Matīss is in good hands!”

According to the magazine “Kas Jauns”, next week the multimedia show “This love does not sell” created by “Divi9” will be released, directed by Matīsa’s father Viktors Runtulis.

This is the third time the premiere has been canceled due to restrictions imposed by Covid-19. However, Sanita Tauriņa believes that it still has its benefits. The first “shot” was scheduled for November last year, and then the show would have been much more fatal and completely sad. But now in the meantime we have gone through some filter and … it will be easier, ”emphasizes Sanita.

She felt her son’s presence in heaven

A year and a half has passed since the son was lost. What was Sanita’s time like? Have you managed to overcome the tragedy? “This question cannot be answered so easily and quickly. Victor and I have both gone through different stages. From despair, to pain, to some kind of reconciliation. And the feeling of unconditional love. Because we have no choice but to look up there, and feel what we can feel. Because we have nothing left. Thus, technically, I can say that in moments when we feel weaker or have more stress, then there are stages of breakage, but when the body and mind feel stronger, understanding and acceptance of what has happened is also more possible. But there are also uncontrollable tears from time to time. The first year was like I didn’t know when that click would happen – I could just walk down the street and suddenly cry. “

Sanita also reveals to Kas Magazine that she has felt her son’s presence in heaven. “It simply came to our notice then. For a while I couldn’t understand why Matisse didn’t come to me in dreams. For example, like Victor, when Matisse specifically came to the dream, hugged him and, smiling with his beautiful, wide smile, said, “Dad, we are forever!” I didn’t have anything like that. I saw him as a baby, very small, but there were no dreams that would confirm his eternal existence. But then a miracle happened to me. In addition, twice in a row in the same place. I was sent proof that everything is fine with him and that he is in a good place. And this is how I have been reassured that it is God that my son is in good hands, ”Sanita reveals, though keeping to myself what it was like to be a miracle, simply saying,“ I think that people who have had to go through such pain are given the opportunity to see something like that. ”

Pay attention to the problem

There will now be a show with music by Matīss Runtuulis, and producer Sanita Tauriņa invites people who have not yet become acquainted with Matīsa’s creative work to attend. “Matiss was not a representative of pop music, his music was known to a certain circle, but it was not so small and only getting bigger. I write letters, address completely strangers, keep us with Victor with good words, saying: although they do not know us, they have followed Matis’s work. There are also those who started listening to Matiss’ music after TAS. Why come to the show? That’s exactly why we make this show – we are not specialists, we do not know how to help other people in similar cases. Yes, my parents call me, they ask for specific help in their cases, but I am not the one who is able to give professional advice. The only thing we can do is our work. To create a show, thus paying more attention to the institutions responsible for improving the situation in this area, “Sanita emphasizes, adding:” Yes, various projects are starting to emerge in the last year, but this problem is still deepening. Especially at this time of limitation, and this is something that should be invested more in, pay attention to. That’s why we’re creating this show to draw attention in this way and help other parents act better. When you realize that your young man has fallen into the abyss and you don’t know how to help him, you suddenly grasp it, but the time to get out of the pit is very short. ”

Sanita admits that Matsis had a rehabilitation program for several months, but that’s when the Covid-19 pandemic started and everything stopped – Matsis didn’t start it anyway. “We personally had a bad experience. Well, we want to protect others from that. I advise all parents to hurry up and look for any opportunities to get professional help. If this is not possible in Latvia, then look for options abroad. If you do not have the means, do not regret anything – sell everything, but help your child, seek help, do not postpone it, because there is simply no time. Time is as it is – not so much. It seemed to us that we would find a specialist, that we still had time, we were not afraid of the fight, we realized that it would be hard and long, but … The turn was so sudden. We neither guessed nor foresaw anything, nor were there any signs of such an end result.

And, dear parents, listen to your children! If, as in our case, a young person has been involved in cunning chemicals that have destroyed the psyche and the nervous system, it must be understood that we cannot put such young people in our vision, treat them by our own standards. On the contrary, we must try to empathize with his situation and try to help through his vision. You need caresses, you need touches, you have to look into your eyes and say, “I love you very much!”, Not, “You already know that Dad and I love you.” Address your child very personally and do not miss a moment. Until you are sure that everything will be fine, ”recommends Sanita Tauriņa.

Matthias’ psyche was destroyed by chemicals

In May 2020, at the age of 29, the talented musician and music producer Matīss Runtulis decided to leave his life. Matisse was devastated by the use of seemingly “innocent” substances – he felt empty and depressed for a long time, but on the morning of May 6, he put an end to his suffering.

What happened to Matīss, after his death, Sanita Tauriņa revealed to the magazine Kas Jauns: We didn’t notice because he never exaggerated. We only noticed when our good, fragile Matisse started to look different. It is a cheap chemistry that is brought to young people, they learn from it, because it works with a whole network. Young people struggle with it until the day comes when they are unable to function without swallowing their shit. And then comes the moment when this shit has completely destroyed the user’s nervous system, there is nothing left … ”

This love does not sell

From September 15 to September 21, 2021, the multimedia show “This Love Does Not Sell” and the audiovisual exhibition “Art for a Longer Life” created by the project “Divi9” will take place in the 2nd quarter of Sport.

The multimedia show “This Love Does Not Sell” is a game of contrasts – balancing from the search for human freedom to the pain printed in a square. The unfinished conversation between father and son continues in the language of art – these are the impulses that the son leaves to the father in the intermediate space – within the realm of the soul. Eternity threads, followed by answers to unanswered questions. The principle of multimedia art, which presupposes the desire and ability of many players to communicate on several levels of perception. In order to communicate in space, a new reality emerges. Even several. They continue to send each other impulse threads in the language of contemporary dance, circus acrobatics, music and abstract visual messages.

“Art for a Longer Life” is an exhibition of audiovisual works of art by a collective of more than ten artists, created especially for this event. The authors will reflect on the themes of the Divi9 project, offering viewers new – longer life – experiences. Art as a search path that allows for interactive experimentation with space, the environment and perception, just as artists themselves often experiment with their lives in search of new ways to live, see, think.

Asked if the spirit of her son and his presence can be felt in the show, Sanita Tauriņa answers: “What part is already felt. We are already doing everything as Matthew would have liked, and as he would have done. When all this work is actually on stage, his music is playing, and his voice will be heard in the first song of the performances, then I think … I expect it to be the real connection. ”
