Ondrej Lingr’s Transfer to Feyenoord: Slavia Prague Coach Comments and Expectations

Ondrej Lingr boarded a plane to Rotterdam on Tuesday. That tells his trainer Jindrich Trpisovsky on one press conference. The Czech will complete his transfer to Feyenoord in the coming days, even though the Slavia Prague coach had certainly hoped for him.

“He said hello to me on Tuesday and said he would fly to Rotterdam,” Trpisovsky reveals about the transfer to Feyenoord. “I wish Ondrej all the best. We had a great relationship, although the feeling now prevails that we have to let him go for an important diptych.” Slavia Prague will play in the last preliminary round of the Europa League against the Ukrainian Zorya Luhansk next week.

At Slavia Prague there is in any case deep respect for Feyenoord and they are secretly even a little fan of the club. “Mick van Buren was actually the most happy,” says Trpisovsky about his Dutch striker. “He is a die-hard Feyenoord fan and seemed even happier than Ondrej himself. Van Buren already started playing Feyenoord songs at the club when he heard about the transfer. As a trainer I am also happy that he is going to that club and not to another destination. Feyenoord is a phenomenal team.”

Lingr’s arrival is expected to be made official in the coming days. Luka Ivanusec from Dinamo Zagreb is also expected in Rotterdam soon. Lingr is rented for one season, but after that he must be taken over for ‘several million euros’.
