SANTO DOMINGO.-The Institute of Oncology “Dr. Heriberto Pieter “, presented his 5th. Scientific day, which will be held in 2021 under the motto “Oncology in a Time of Pandemic”, Dedicated to Dr. Rosa Francia Rojas Sanabia, dermatologist.
The meeting was led by the medical director of the healthcare center, Dr. Rosa Haydeé Vassallo Members of the Scientific Committee of this event, as well as representatives of pharmaceutical laboratories, participated in it.
The presentation was made by the president of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Julio Ferreras, who is also Head of the Clinical Oncology Service.
The conference will have a scientific agenda, where issues related to various types of cancer such as breast, prostate, lung, digestive tract, orphan tumors, among others, will be addressed. It will also have a round table where specialists will discuss issues related to cancer and Covid-19.
On her side, Dr. Vassallo reported that this scientific activity will take place within the framework of the Month dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness, which is October. It is part of the teacher training program developed by the National School of Oncology of the Dominican League Against Cancer.
