Is dead Italo Ormanni, in the judiciary from 1961 to 2010. He was 87 years old. The announcement comes from the editorial team of the TV program Forum where Ormanni took part as a judge for two seasons, from 2011 to 2013, having just retired.

Neapolitan by origin, Ormanni as prosecutor at the Neapolitan prosecutor’s office had followed some investigations into the Camorra, culminating in the arrests of the bosses Cutolo, Zazza and Nuvoletta. But his professional realization took place in Rome where he followed the most delicate investigations since the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi to the murder of Simonetta Cesaroni upon the student’s death Marta Russo at La Sapienza University. As deputy prosecutor at the Capitoline prosecutor’s office – a position he held from 1994 to 2008 – Ormanni also coordinated the anti-terrorism investigations into anarchists and the new red brigades, with the ambush on the professor Massimo D’Antonaand on the crimes of Italians abroad, ‘first and foremost’ the double murder of Ilaria Alpi e Miran Hrovatin in Somalia and the assassination of the journalist Maria Grazia Cutuli in Afghanistan.

From 2000 to 2008 he was also an anti-mafia prosecutor for Lazio, while from 2008 to 2010 he was head of the Department at the Ministry of Justice, dealing among other things with the extradition of the terrorist Cesare Battisti, a fugitive in Brazil.
