The Var prefecture had carried out checks which had not revealed any anomalies. However, several road users claim to have seen the flash go off between 50 km / h and 70 km / h but have not received a report in their mailbox. Eventually, the business had “settled down” a bit.
“An illegal ticket!”
However, recently, a doctor from the Var had the unpleasant surprise of receiving a fixed fine of 90 euros to be paid immediately (or 135 euros later) with one point less on his driving license. “It is indicated on the report that I went to 56 km / h at the beginning of December. However, the maximum speed is normally 70 km / h. It is therefore an obvious error. Suddenly, the tolerance of 5 km / h applied means that the speed retained concerning me was 51 km / h. So in excess of speed if the radar is configured on “50 km / h maximum.” This proves well that the radar flashes in spite of the common sense: au- above 50 km / h and not over 70 km / h. “
Furious, this doctor denounces a denial of legality: “Either you have to change the device, or you have to change the speed limit sign! This is an illegal ticket. The State loses credibility.”
“No malfunction found”
