“With presence in the 340 municipalities; the strengthening of specialized prosecutor’s offices for the investigation of crimes such as violence against women in 26 prosecutor’s offices nationwide, four regional headquarters of the Prosecutor’s Office against the Crime of Femicide, plus the central headquarters; three regional headquarters of the Prosecutor’s Office against Human Trafficking and the central headquarters,” they noted.
It has specialized models in: Comprehensive Care Model and the Comprehensive Care Model for Women Victims of Violence IXKEM MAIMI, Comprehensive Care Model for Children and Adolescents, specialized services including Line 1572, Panic Button, and implementation of Alert Isabel -Claudina, as mechanisms to provide help and support to women victims of violence in order to protect their lives and integrity.
They describe that they have generated specialized regulations to guide the processes of care, victimology and investigation and criminal prosecution in cases of violence against women in all its manifestations, sexual crimes and femicide.
GENDER APPROACH
The institution points out that the gender focus in institutional training processes has facilitated specialization in the incorporation of the gender and intersectionality focus and has implemented communication campaigns with a gender focus, with the aim of raising awareness and promoting the use of institutional services aimed at women.
“The Public Ministry materializes the commitment to incorporate the gender approach in all institutional processes, as well as respect for women’s rights, through the implementation of the Policy for Equality, which comes to life through the Plan 2024-2026 and the Protocol for Handling Cases of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace,” he describes.
