The acquaintance Black Friday, the great date with discounts and offers born in the United States, is usually the indicative of Christmas Eve. And, like every year, it will be held on the last Friday in November, that is, in 2021 it will be on November 26.
However, stores tend to be ahead of the date, and instead of being a discount day, it is usually a whole week, depending on the brand and the business decision. Therefore, and although we will not know until the date approaches, it is almost certainly likely that the promotions will be extended until the end of the month.
Beginnings of Black Friday in Spain
The tradition was born in the United States, but in Spain has also adopted it for 9 years now. The first Spanish company to celebrate this consumer holiday was MediaMarkt in 2012, and in the following years many other brands and businesses joined.
These days almost all stores celebrate Black Friday, even many of the local businesses, no matter how small. However, those who benefit the most are usually the large online shopping platforms, such as Amazon or AliExpress.
Lack of supplies in UK
The COVID-19 pandemic and the departure from the European Union have aggravated the supply crisis that the United Kingdom has been suffering in recent weeks. This could be a big problem heading into Black Friday and the Christmas campaign, causing huge losses to the industry in the nation.
The main problem lies in the lack of truckers and boats to meet the demand for transport. UK ports are collapsed, and if the supply chain is in trouble, the result could be much-needed chaotic logistics in shops and businesses.
