Prague On Wednesday, 129 new cases of covid-19 were confirmed in the Czech Republic, a similar number as on Tuesday, when the daily increase was 119. 12,814 people have been infected so far, 8,010 of them have recovered and 351 have died. It follows from the information of the Ministry of Health. There are now three outbreaks in the Czech Republic. The largest of them in the Karviná region, others in Církvice in the Kutná Hora region and in Větrný Jeníkov in the Jihlava region.

The number of currently ill patients increased slightly compared to Wednesday evening, there are 4453. In most of them, the disease has a mild course. There are 137 patients with coronavirus in the hospital, 12 of whom are in serious condition.
The number of new cases is related to the number of tests on a given day. The ministry will publish Wednesday’s number of tested today in the early evening; on Tuesday, 4019 were tested according to updated data.
In the Karviná region, which is now most affected by the disease, they recorded about 154 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants last week. The number is declining here, by midnight on Tuesday it was 168 and on Sunday 252 newly ill. The disease spread here mainly among the workers of the OKD coal company and in their families.

In the neighboring Frýdek-Místek region, where DEVA has ceased operations due to the infection, there are approximately 34 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. In the Ostrava region it is 26, in the Kutnohorská region 42 and in the Jihlava region about 11 new patients per 100,000 inhabitants. In most districts in the Czech Republic, no new patients with covid-19 have appeared in the last week.
Among the regions, the most patients have so far been recorded in Moravia-Silesia, where they have so far detected 3,534 cases of coronavirus. There are 2607 cases in Prague, while in the South Bohemian Region there are only 204. With a covid-19, most people died in Prague, there were 109 deaths. The fewest deaths are recorded in the Zlín Region, there were three.
