On Victory Day, the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik conveyed congratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin to World War II veteran Elena Rozhdestvenskaya.

Elena Ivanovna Rozhdestvenskaya was born on June 22, 1924 in the Kursk region. Before the start of World War II, the family moved to Stalino (Donetsk). In 1942, at the age of 17, she joined the Red Army. She served in an artillery regiment in the North Caucasus. She carried the wounded regiment commander from the battlefield and received a concussion.
She took part in the battles for the liberation of Kyiv and Budapest. I celebrated the victory in Vienna. She was awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War, medals “For the Defense of the North Caucasus”, “For Military Merit”, “For the Liberation of Budapest”.
