The new work of developer and artist Olivier Moorey, also known as 3Dystopia, demonstrates the incredible power of the advanced graphics engine Unreal Engine 5. The enthusiast shared an impressive video that is very easy to confuse with footage from the real world.
Using the advanced rendering functionality of Unreal Engine 5, Moorey recreated an exact copy of one of the European streets. The result turned out to be so realistic that the video from the developer is easily confused with the usual walking videos on YouTube.
The video turned out to be quite short, but it took several weeks to create it and more than 1.5 thousand photos. All objects and textures were recreated from real shots that were processed by RealityCapture and then rendered using Unreal Engine 5.
As the author himself notes, the textures of the world turned out to be far from ideal due to inexperience with the engine. With proper tuning of Unreal Engine 5, objects could be even more detailed.
