During the past day, 7621 Covid-19 examinations were performed in Latvia and 453 new infections were registered, which is a new one-day antirecord and twice the number of previously registered cases, according to the data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

The proportion of positive cases compared to the tested ones was 5.9%. A total of 8848 persons became ill in Latvia.
Two people infected with Covid-19 died on Tuesday, one in the 65-70 age group and one in the 75-80 age group.
In the last day, 31 new patients with Covid-19 were hospitalized, according to the National Health Service. Currently, a total of 299 people are treated in hospitals, which is 10 less than the day before. Among the patients are 282 with moderate disease and 17 with severe disease. During the last day, 41 Covid-19 patients were discharged from the hospital – a total of 671.
In Lithuania, 14 people died from Covid-19 last day and 1,433 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed. 132 new infections were registered in Estonia on Friday.
